Forecasters Warn of Potential Snow as Arctic Air Hits NJ

Could NJ See More Snow?

Long-range forecasters warn that snow is more likely to fall in New Jersey in the upcoming weeks due to blasts of cold, Arctic air.

AccuWeather meteorologists anticipate a particularly stormy stretch from Jan. 18-20.

Any storms that may occur won't happen until the following week. This week will see another round of frigid air, but it won't be suitable for snowfall.

In the coming days and weeks, AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Meteorologist Paul Pastelok stated, "A number of waves of Arctic air continue to gather over northern Canada with eyes for the central and eastern United States."

"Opening a pathway for one or more significant storms to move up from the South Central states or the Gulf and either track toward the Great Lakes or the coastal Northeast," Pastelok said, with a stormy stretch predicted by AccuWeather from January 18 to 20. By the end of the month, it will be cold once more.

Brett Anderson, Senior Meteorologist at AccuWeather, stated that "an Arctic blast before the end of the month (Jan. 20-24) has the potential to sprawl over much of the Central and Eastern states." "But it might not be such a straight shot into the East."

We will just have to wait and see what happens.
