The YES Network is welcoming a well-known face from Toms River into the fold.
Todd Frazier, a former infielder for the New York Yankees and Mets, is in the process of transitioning from player to studio commentator. In a tweet on Saturday, longtime YES analyst and broadcaster Jack Curry announced that Frazier would be joining him there.
Frazier, a veteran of 11 Major League seasons, made his final appearance with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2021. The corner infielder has also played for the Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds. He was acquired by the Yankees at the 2017 trade deadline, and he contributed to the team's ALCS appearance.
From 2018 to 2020, Frazier played for the Mets. He accumulated 218 career home runs and 1,059 hits in 1,244 career games, winning the Home Run Derby in 2015 while playing for the Reds. Despite being a two-time All-Star, Frazier retired with a lifetime batting average of.214.
For ESPN, he has previously called Little League World Series games. "Can't wait to chat Yankees and see how the season unfolds," Frazier posted on Twitter.
Frazier's upbeat demeanor is likely to make an impact on fans in the Bronx once more.
