Freezing Rain and Light Ice Expected Across New Jersey Tonight

Freezing Rain and Light Ice Expected Across New Jersey Tonight

According to the most recent forecast, northern New Jersey might get freezing rain and light icing tonight due to a swiftly approaching storm system.

The National Weather Service declared early on Tuesday that "we will finally see milder temperatures over the next few days." "There will be some light precipitation as a warm front moves through the area late today and into tonight."
According to the weather service, temperatures will be close to freezing this evening, with the possibility of freezing rain and drizzle developing primarily north of I-78.

If icing does form, it should be light and accumulate to less than a tenth of an inch.

The likelihood of some icing is reduced between I-78 and I-95. It is anticipated that the rest of the state will stay warm enough to support precipitation. Clear skies and west-northwest wind gusts of 20 to 25 mph are expected throughout the state on Wednesday and Thursday.

With varying conditions and highs in the 30s to low 40s, Friday and Saturday will continue to be dry.
A storm that could deliver some snow to parts of New Jersey is predicted by forecasters for late Sunday or early Monday.

The current prediction predicts further rain or snow turning to rain on Friday and Saturday as temperatures rise above freezing.

Northwestern New Jersey is probably the area with the biggest probability of snow accumulation, with the weather service estimating 30 to 40% likelihood of at least 2 inches of snow.
