On February 24, 2023, Walnut Street Elementary welcomed therapy dogs Audrey and Jubel to the school's Title I Family Reading Program.

Students took turns reading to the furry friends while their loved ones listened and enjoyed the calming presence of the animals. Students and their families also participated in many dog-themed activities, which included edible dog treats and a dog estimation jar.
