Dog, Cat License Renewals
Residents of Toms River who own dogs, cats, or both should renew their licenses as the new year gets underway.
In accordance with state law, all dogs in New Jersey must have licenses by the time they are 7 months old, and Toms River also requires
licensing for cats.
The license is valid from January 1 until December 31. For the duration of the licensing period, a dog or cat must have a current rabies vaccination in order to obtain a license.
Dogs that have been spayed or neutered must pay $15, while unspayed or neutered dogs must pay $20.
Cats that have been spayed or neutered must pay $9, while unspayed or neutered cats must pay $12.
Along with documentation of the rabies vaccination, documentation of spaying/neutering performed by a qualified veterinarian is required.
You can mail the application along with a check for the required costs payable to Township of Toms River to:
Toms River Dog/Cat Licensing
P.O. Box 728
Toms River, NJ 08754
By January 31st, it must be postmarked. The late fee ($5 for February and $10 for March) must be included for renewals that were postmarked after January 31.
The Toms River Town Hall, located at
33 Washington St., also accepts in-person renewals.
