Grounding of Boat at Jersey Shore Leads to Serious Injuries for Two People

According to Long Beach Island Police Department, on Tuesday afternoon, officers from the Long Beach Township Police Department were dispatched to the bayfront area of Tebco Terrace in Holgate in response to a report of a boat that had run aground, resulting in serious injuries to two occupants.

The United States Coast Guard was already en route to the scene at the time of dispatch.

Upon arrival, Towboat U.S.A. was on location and transported Patrolman Dan Voorhees to the grounded vessel to assist in providing medical aid to the injured individuals.
Rescue swimmers from the United States Coast Guard, the New Jersey State Police, and members of the Beach Haven Fire Department Water Rescue Unit also responded and rendered medical assistance on scene.

The injured occupants were airlifted by the United States Coast Guard to a nearby hospital. Their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

The United States Coast Guard, the New Jersey State Police, the Beach Haven First Aid Squad, the Beach Haven Fire Department, and Towboat USA all assisted. Great job done by all.
