Head-On Accident in Toms River Leaves Two People Hurt

According to Toms River Police Department,, a collision on Hooper Avenue Tuesday morning left two people with minor injuries.

The collision occurred at the junction of Hooper Avenue and Fischer Boulevard at approximately 7:35 a.m.

Elan Watkins of Toms River lost control of his 2006 Chevy Impala while traveling south on the Hooper Avenue exit ramp. He then crossed the center median and onto the northbound ramp from Fischer Boulevard.

Brianna Conticchio, a resident of Toms River, was driving a 2021 Honda HRV when the Impala struck it.

Watkins and Conticchio both refused to be transported to the hospital.

Watkins received a citation for careless driving as a consequence of the investigation conducted by Traffic Safety Officer Ryan Fitzgerald.
