Tragic Accident Claims Life of Lucy Morgan, 6-Year-Old Girl from New Jersey

According to NJ.com, authorities and the family reported that 6-year-old Lucy Morgan from New Jersey passed away a few days after playing badminton with her siblings at a lake cottage in Maine.

On the last day of their family vacation, the family had finished their lunch by the lake, Morgan claimed the kids proceeded to play badminton in the front yard.

The 10-year-old brother of Lucy was using a racquet when it broke on a downward swing, separating the aluminum shaft from the wooden grip while Lucy was seated on the sidelines, according to Maine State Police.

Lucy suffered a traumatic brain damage after the shaft pierced her skull, according to her relatives and the police.

After being transported by EMS to a nearby hospital, Lucy was flown to a hospital located in Portland, Maine. Four days later, on June 5, 2024, she passed away from her injuries.

The Maine State Police described the circumstance as "such a sad, tragic one." "We are so sorry for the family."

This week, Jesse Morgan the father of the deceased little girl wrote about Lucy's fight for survival on his blog, New Creation Living.

In addition to her 10-year-old brother, 8-year-old sister, and 4-year-old brother, Lucy is survived by her parents, Jesse and Bethany Morgan. Since then, the family has returned back to New Jersey. June 15th is set aside for Lucy's funeral.

As of Friday morning, a GoFundMe.com created in support of the Morgan family had raised over $87,000.
