Heightened Storm Risk: Severe Thunderstorms Forecast
According to forecasts, there is currently a higher chance of severe thunderstorms on Tuesday late in the evening in some areas of the Garden State.
The
National Weather Service predicts that the storm's worst effects, including severe wind gusts, would be felt in the northeastern part of the state. According to an update from the agency at 1 p.m., there is now a minor risk of severe thunderstorms in that region.
The meteorological service said that Tuesday afternoon will see the start of rain, with lower temperatures in the low to mid-60s predicted for North and Central Jersey. It is predicted that South Jersey, from Vineland to Philadelphia, will enjoy temperatures in the 80s.
Tonight: Isolated showers and thunderstorms before 10pm, then isolated showers after 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Wednesday: Scattered showers, mainly before 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. Light and variable wind becoming southeast 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. Southeast wind around 5 mph.
The National Weather Service reported that Tuesday's frigid wind gusts might reach up to 10 mph, especially overnight when temperatures drop to about 50 degrees.
According to the
National Weather Service, the showers are expected to last throughout Wednesday morning, making way for partly sunny skies and afternoon temperatures in the 70s.
Thursday and Friday are predicted to be dry with partly overcast skies and 70°C afternoon highs, followed by another risk of showers on Saturday and Sunday.
