HIT-AND-RUN Crash in Ocean County Under Investigation
According to the Ocean County Prosecutors Office, they are presently looking into a pedestrian-related hit-and-run accident that happened in Lakewood Township early on June 16, 2024.
Police from the Lakewood Township Police Department were called to the intersection of Route 9 and First Street on June 16, 2024, at around 12:30 a.m., in response to a report of a hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian.
When the male victim was struck by a white four-door sedan heading north on Route 9, it was evident to the responding officers that the victim was trying to cross the road at a designated crosswalk.
The white automobile left the scene and proceeded north on Route 9. The victim of the collision was sent to
Jersey Shore University Medical Center to receive treatment for severe injuries. Right now, the victim's condition is listed as critical.
