Injuries Reported After Car Hits 82-Year-Old Pedestrian in NJ
According to authorities, an 82-year-old man in South Jersey suffered severe injuries after being hit by a car while crossing the highway.
The collision occurred in the vicinity of Route 9 and Moss Mill Road in Galloway just after 5 p.m. on November 29.
A 64-year-old guy from Lumberton was traveling south on Route 9 in a 1999 Buick Century. According to authorities, an 82-year-old Wall man was crossing Route 9 in the direction of Historic Smithville from the east side of the road.
According to authorities, the Wall man was struck by the Buick as he crossed. There was no crosswalk where he was.
The motorist was unharmed, but the pedestrian was hospitalized with critical injuries, according to the police.
Residents are being reminded by Galloway Police that everyone has a responsibility to ensure pedestrian safety.
