Fatal Accident in NJ: Teen Struck by Boat Propeller
According to a press release from the NJ State Police, authorities said an 18-year-old was killed on Sunday afternoon after being struck by a boat's propeller.
Zeina Mahafzah of Wayne was reportedly on a raft being pushed by a boat, according to the police. The 18-year-old was fatally injured when she was struck by the boat's propeller while trying to board, according to the police. According to Harvey Cedars police, a "tragic boating accident" was the cause of death.The New Jersey State Police, who are in charge of the investigation, say that the accident happened in the water off Sunset Park in Harvey Cedars Boro about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
According to a Press release from the New Jersey State Police on August 25, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., troopers responded to a vessel incident in the waters off Sunset Park in Harvey Cedars Boro, Ocean County. Based on a preliminary investigation, a female boater was on a raft being pulled by a boat. While attempting to board the vessel, she was struck by the vessel's propeller. As a result of the impact, the victim, Zeina Mahafzah, 18-year-old female from Wayne, NJ, sustained fatal injuries. The incident remains under investigation, and no additional information is available at this time.
