Jersey Shore Prepares for Flooding Amid Nor'easter Conditions

As high tide approaches, areas of the Jersey Shore, especially Barnegat Bay, are preparing for more flooding on Monday night.

Forecasters warn that flooding will worsen due to the current nor'easter. The risk of flooding has been lowered, and much of the beach and Delaware Bay are predicted to experience mild flooding.

However, when high tide occurs on Monday at roughly 5:30 p.m., Barnegat Bay and Barnegat Inlet are still expected to experience significant flooding. This region's roadways, particularly those on Long Beach Island, have been inundated all day.
Coastal counties are under a Coastal Flood Warning through 8 p.m. In low-lying places, forecasters anticipate flooding that is one to two feet above ground level.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service stated that "at this level, widespread roadway flooding occurs in coastal and bayside communities and along inland tidal waterways." "A lot of roads get impassable. Vulnerable constructions can start to sustain some harm.

At 10 p.m. on Saturday, a State of Emergency was announced; no end time has been set.
The National Weather Service predicted that these winds would decrease during the day.

There will likely be some sun peeks and a decrease in the likelihood of rain as the storm moves east and weakens into Tuesday. The National Weather Service says gusty gusts will persist, particularly along the shore.
