Krispy Kreme Makes a Comeback in Ocean County

Fans of Krispy Kreme, rejoice! After almost two decades, the warm, glazed doughnuts you adore are coming back to Ocean County.

On Tuesday, November 12, the new store will open in the location of the previous McDonald's at the Town & Country Shopping Center on Route 70. Bingo, Home Depot, and more retailers can be found in the shopping area.

The new store is called a "factory store," and it has a conveyor belt where doughnuts are freshly baked in front of consumers, as well as a glaze waterfall.

In Brick, a little Krispy Kreme location on Route 70, just east of Chambers Bridge Road, closed its doors in the early 2000s.

The North Carolina-based Krispy Kreme brand has opened more than 700 outlets in more than 30 countries in the years after the previous Brick location closed.

The "Hot Doughnuts" sign, which illuminates when the newly produced doughnuts are on the conveyor, is a well-known feature of the establishments.

Krispy Kreme leased the old McDonald's space from JLL, a commercial real estate firm. The Krispy Kreme website states that it will be one of four locations in New Jersey.
