Severe storms are advancing eastward across the nation and are expected to deliver extensive rainfall, wind gusts reaching 50 mph, and thunderstorms to New Jersey on Sunday evening, as per the most recent forecast.

Although New Jersey may avoid the extreme conditions experienced by other states, there remains a risk of damaging winds and significant rainfall, according to the National Weather Service. This weather activity is anticipated to commence during the afternoon and continue into the evening.
According to forecasters from the National Weather Service, peak wind gusts are expected to range from 35 to 45 mph, with the possibility of reaching as high as 50 mph. Additionally, there is a risk of severe thunderstorms.

AccuWeather meteorologists have indicated that the primary threats will stem from intense wind gusts and heavy rainfall, which could lead to hazardous driving conditions and the cancellation of flights at local airports.

The National Weather Service forecasters commented, "Considering the prolonged dry spell, we do not anticipate significant flooding. However, as rainfall intensifies, particularly over urban regions, some flooding on roadways is likely to occur later on Sunday afternoon and into the evening."
