Latest Forecast: Severe Storms to Hit NJ

The most recent forecast indicates that a round of severe weather could arrive on Thursday, ending four days of cloudy sky.

As of Thursday morning, the National Weather Service reported that patches of rain were falling in several parts of the state.

The National Weather Service also stated that there may be a few isolated strong thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. However, certain regions of the state may remain entirely dry.

The good news is that a much nicer weekend is on the way thanks to these storms. Forecasters predict sunny, seasonable temperatures and acceptable humidity levels for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

However, the prediction indicates that there will be a chance of showers again Tuesday and Wednesday. The National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center is predicting a "moderate risk" of excessive heat in the Northeast, where temperatures may rise over triple digits.
