Significant Changes for the Weekend
Forecasters said that a rainy spring weekend is likely before consistently summerlike temperatures start next week.
The
National Weather Service reported that Friday's dry forecast will primarily consist of clouds, with daytime highs expected to be close to 70 degrees. For Monmouth and Ocean counties, a rip current advisory is in place through Friday night.
According to the NWS, the first potential bout of light rain is predicted for Saturday morning, most likely in South Jersey. Saturday's highs and lows will be in the high 50s to high 60s, with the lowest temperatures expected to be found closer to the coast.
According to a Friday X post from the National Weather Service Mount Holly station, Sunday will be noticeably warmer with highs in the low 70s and partly sunny skies. The weather service stated that while "some showers" are expected, "most places should remain dry."
Sunday's highs will propel the Garden State into even warmer weather, with Monday highs predicted to be in the mid-70s and Tuesday and Wednesday highs in the high-70s.
According to
AccuWeather, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday's RealFeel temps will be close to 82 degrees, making the daytime highs feel like summertime.
There will be another chance of showers on Wednesday night into Thursday, with the latter day possibly seeing thunderstorms.
