Life Cut Short: 39-Year-Old Man Dies in Ocean County Car Accident
According to Lacey Township Police Department, On November 27, 2024 at 12:19 am Lacey Township Police, Forked River Fire Department, and Lacey Township EMS responded to the 2800 block of Dover Road for a report of an overturned vehicle.
Upon arrival a 2016 Nissan Frontier was located with severe damage overturned in the wooded area. The driver, 39 year-old
Christopher Winkle of Lake Drive, Forked River, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and as a result sustained fatal injuries.
RWJ Paramedics responded and Christopher was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed Christopher was traveling northbound on Dover Road when his vehicle left the roadway right, collided with a utility pole, crossed into the southbound lane, collided with a guardrail and overturned.
Dover Road was closed for approximately four hours for the crash investigation.
This incident is currently under investigation by Patrolman Michael Hyle, of the Lacey Township Police Department Crash Team.
