Light Snow Possible Friday in NJ: Check the Latest Forecast.
The most recent forecast indicates that a change in the polar vortex will bring snow, ice, rain, and extremely cold temperatures to New Jersey during the next weeks. This weekend's first episode might bring snow.
According to the
National Weather Service, the below-average temperatures during the next few days, particularly on Thursday night and Friday, will be the main weather story.
Additionally, there are a few chances for light snowfall, although no significant snowstorms are currently predicted.
A cold front passing the area Thursday could bring some flurries and snow showers into the southern Poconos and NW NJ during the afternoon. There is very little possibility of precipitation (around 20 percent for any given place in these locations), and any accumulation would probably be a half-inch or less.
Following Tuesday's snow dusting in North Jersey,
AccuWeather experts predicted that the shift would blast Arctic air over the nation. The cold air comes in Wednesday to Thursday, ushering in the worst temperatures of the season so far.
According to AccuWeather projections, nighttime temperatures might plummet to the 10s and 20s. It will feel as though the temperature is in the single digits due to wind chill readings.
Temps will be chilly this weekend, potentially even below freezing in North Jersey.
