Local Woman Faces Charges After Knifepoint Robbery in Brick

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said on Tuesday that a woman from Brick Township had entered a guilty plea to robbing a Berkeley Township convenience shop in 2024.

In connection with two crimes that occurred on October 15, Jessica A. Napolitano, 38, entered a guilty plea to robbery and burglary before Superior Court Judge Kenneth T. Palmer on Monday, according to prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
At approximately 4:20 a.m. on October 15, according to authorities, Napolitano entered The Corner shop, a convenience shop on Ocean Gate Drive in Berkeley Township, pointed a knife at the cashier, and demanded cash and cigarettes. According to officials, the woman left after the staff offered her money and cigarettes.

While doing their investigation, Berkeley Township police and officials discovered that a lady had thrown a rock through the front window of the Dollar General on Route 9 and attempted to enter the business to get cigarettes, but was unsuccessful, according to authorities. Authorities stated she headed to The Corner Store at that point.

According to authorities, Napolitano was apprehended in Lakewood after officers were able to identify her as the culprit behind both instances. After being brought to the Ocean County Jail, she was eventually released due to bail reform.
According to the prosecutor's office, Napolitano, who is being held at the Ocean County Jail on other charges, will be sentenced on September 26. The defendants will be seeking concurrent sentences of three years in prison for the burglary accusation and seven years in jail for the robbery charge. She will have to serve 85 percent of her sentence for the robbery offense before she will be eligible for parole because the term is subject to the No Early Release Act.
