When (and what) exactly is "locals' summer" at the Jersey Shore? If you've been fortunate enough to visit any of the many local shore towns in New Jersey during the "Summer Season", you've probably heard the term, "locals' summer".
"Locals' Summer" is the time period beginning the day after Labor Day, when all of the "Bennys" return to their homes and jobs up north, and the local residents of "the shore" get their beaches, boardwalks and bars back until the weather eventually turns colder. The days are still warm (even hot).
The ocean water temperatures are still warm (hurricanes like that too). But there is little traffic, easy parking and no "bennys" to contend with at the local restaurants, bars and beaches.
