Lost Hikers in Ocean County Were Found
According to Berekeley Township Police Departmenton 08/16/2025 at approximately 2:20 pm the Berkeley Township Police Department received a call from an adult female who advised that her and a male had entered the wooded area of Dover Forge around 09:00 and could not locate their way back to their vehicle.
Officers from the Berkeley Township Police Department (Sgt. Houle, Ptl. Shan, and Ptl. Slocum) along with assistance from Berkeley Township Police Drone Unit (Ptl. DeDeyn, Ptl. Scaturro and Ptl. Bondulich) and ATV Unit (Sgt. Flanegan and Ptl. Bondulich) launched an immediate search that extended approximately 2.5 hours.
At approximately 5:15pm, the two lost individuals were located via Drone in the wooded area approximately 150 yards from the creek. Both subjects were able to successfully follow the drone to where officers were located. Berkeley Township EMS were on scene, evaluated them and both were released without injuries.
