Man Dies After Being Struck by Train in Monmouth County

According to NJ Transit, at the Middletown train station on Tuesday morning, a man was struck by a train and was killed.

Around 9:06 a.m. on Tuesday, the man was hit by a train on the North Jersey Coast Line.

According to a NJ Transit representative, the train had departed New York City and was expected to reach Long Branch at 9:23 a.m.

The individual was struck west of the Middletown train station, according to NJ Transit, who described him as "trespassing" on the rails.
The regional medical examiner has now received the man's body and will decide if his death was an accident or suicide. The man's identity, age, and town of origin have not yet been disclosed by NJ Transit.
