Man Faces Attempted Murder Charges After Ocean County Stabbing

According to Jackson Township Police, a man wanted in connection with the Thanksgiving night stabbing of a woman at an apartment building in Ocean County was taken into custody on Saturday.

Jackson Police Chief Matthew Kunz announced on Saturday night that Jaden Thompson, who resides in Freehold, was taken into custody in Edison following a brief car chase that terminated when he crashed his vehicle.
According to Kunz, Thompson attempted to flee but was apprehended by Edison cops. According to Kunz, he was brought to the Jackson police headquarters. The inquiry was still ongoing.

Authorities were looking for Thompson in relation to the stabbing that occurred at the Paragon apartments on Larsen Road, according to Jackson Township Police Lt. Fred Meabe on Saturday afternoon.

When police arrived at the complex at 11:36 p.m. on Thursday, they discovered the critically injured 20-year-old lady being attended to by a family member after she had been stabbed in the abdomen, according to Meabe. According to Meabe, the family member reported to the police that Thompson had stabbed the woman.

While some cops were tending to the wounded, others started looking for Thompson and discovered that he had fled in what seemed to be a black 2012 Nissan Altima with NJ license plates that read SUV51A.

Meabe stated that there will be further charges against him once he was accused with attempted murder.

About an hour after police announced their search for Thompson on Facebook, he was located.
