Man Placed Cameras in Restrooms at Jersey Shore Boardwalk
According to Ocean City Police Department, a Philadelphia man is charged with installing covert cameras that were found in restrooms on the Ocean City Boardwalk on June 12.
The 38-year-old
Harold Perkins faces six charges of violating someone's privacy and six counts of putting children's welfare in jeopardy by producing child pornography.
According to police, a lady informed authorities that she had discovered a covert recording device in a restroom at 6th Street and the Boardwalk at approximately 12:30 p.m. on June 12.
After searching every public restroom on the Boardwalk, police discovered multiple more cameras in the restrooms at 10th Street and 11th Street, according to officials.
Detectives from the
Ocean City Police Department, detectives from the Philadelphia Police Department's Special Victim's Unit, agents from the Department of Homeland Security (HSI-Atlantic City), and a K-9 Unit with the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General executed court-authorized arrest and search warrants at a residence and vehicle in the 4200 block of Glenview Street in Philadelphia on June 20 at approximately 6:20 a.m. After authorities identified the suspect as Perkins.
According to authorities, Perkins was arrested at the home and is currently in Pennsylvania pending extradition procedures.
