According to the Ocean County Sheriff's Department, there is a standoff between police and the individual they think may be connected to last week's deadly shooting in Manchester Township in Toms River.

The man is reportedly barricaded in a house on Ravenwood Drive, the sheriff said to News 12. Additionally, according to officials, shots were fired at police officers.

Maxwell Johnston, 35, is wanted in connection with the June 27 shooting in Manchester that claimed the life of Gabriella Caroleo, 25. On July 3, a warrant was issued for Johnston's arrest. He faced accusations of both murder and weapons.

All locals in the immediate vicinity of the standoff have been evacuated, according to Toms River police. They are requesting that everyone else avoid the area.
