Nude and Holding a Budweiser — Police Say This Really Happened in NJ

LAKEWOOD, NJ — A bizarre scene unfolded on 2nd Street Monday afternoon after police say a 69-year-old man was found standing completely naked outside Pine Cone Liquor Store while drinking a stolen 25-ounce Budweiser.

Officers were dispatched around March 17 following multiple reports of a nude male wandering the area and shouting incoherently. When officers arrived, they located the man directly in front of the liquor store, unclothed and holding the open beer.

According to police, the man allegedly walked into the store moments earlier, removed the Budweiser from the cooler, and exited without paying. Witnesses told officers the man appeared agitated and was yelling alarming statements as he stood on the sidewalk.

Authorities say the individual was taken into custody without incident and transported to Lakewood Police Headquarters. He has been charged with lewdness and shoplifting.

The incident mirrors details reported by NJ.com regarding a similar case involving a naked senior citizen accused of stealing beer from a New Jersey liquor store.

Police have not released the man’s identity, and no injuries were reported.
