New Jersey Braces for Heavy Rain and Strong Winds Tonight

With lots of sunshine and highs in the low to mid-seventies, the day is expected to be pleasant and windy. Throughout the afternoon, winds will increase and reach gusts of up to 30 mph.

Tonight, a cold front approaches from the west, bringing with it clouds, showers, and a few thunderstorms, mostly after two in the morning. Overnight, it will be breezy and mild, with lows in the mid- to upper-fiftys.
Early Monday is marked by rain and a few morning thunderstorms, which eventually subside by midday. Through the afternoon, temperatures will remain in the mid 60s, with strong west winds of up to 35 mph making it feel colder. Monday night will be clear with lows in the high 40s.

Tuesday brings sunshine and more comfortable conditions with highs near to mid to upper 60s, followed by another chance for showers Tuesday night. The rest of the week looks quiet and seasonable, with partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 60s.
New Jersey is expected to have heavy rain and possibly severe winds from Sunday evening until early Monday morning.

There might be half an inch to one and a half inches of rain with wind gusts of up to forty miles per hour.

The National Weather Service predicts that the rain will be at its worst between 6 and 11 a.m. on Monday as the swiftly moving storm system moves across the area late Sunday night.
Throughout Sunday, there will be a chance of scattered fallen tree limbs and power lines due to the increase in southerly winds, which will get especially strong in the evening.

With a very low chance of severe wind gusts or even a short tornado, there is a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms. Check the latest forecast.
