New Jersey Experiences Another Earthquake
The U.S. Geological Survey verified Tuesday that an earthquake had rocked northern New Jersey for the second time in four days.
According to the government agency, the quake, which had a Richter scale value of 2.7, was located southwest of the town of Hillsdale in Bergen County.
According to the USGS, it was 12.4 kilometers deep and was captured immediately before 12:12 p.m.
On Saturday night, a 3.0 earthquake occurred 12 miles south of the core of the quake.
Residents and officials reported that the earthquake, which struck at approximately 10:18 p.m., was felt from central New Jersey to western Connecticut and was centered in Hasbrouck Heights, which is also in Bergen County.
There were no recorded injuries or damage from that incident.
People who felt it from northeast New Jersey to New York to southeast Connecticut reported it to the USGS.
