New Jersey Family Displaced by Christmas Fire
On Christmas morning, a residence in Ocean County was consumed by flames, resulting in the total destruction of the home and a nearby vehicle, as reported by law enforcement officials.
The fire ignited at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the
200 block of Navy Lane, located in the Ocean Acres area of Stafford Township, according to the police statement.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and the residents successfully evacuated the house along with their pets, as stated by the authorities.
Emergency services, including police and firefighters, responded to the residence and discovered that the lower level was fully consumed by fire.
Firefighters from the
Stafford Township Volunteer Fire Department, with support from the Barnegat Township Volunteer Fire Department, successfully extinguished the fire.
The property suffered extensive damage, along with a nearby parked vehicle, according to the
police statement.
As a result, portions of Lighthouse Drive, Buccaneer Lane, and Atlantis Avenue were temporarily closed to all traffic.
Emergency medical service crews from Stafford Township, Barnegat Township, and Little Egg Harbor arrived at the location, with no injuries reported. Additionally, officials from Stafford Township Fire Prevention and the Ocean County Fire Marshal responded, accompanied by the Departments of Water & Sewer and Public Works from Stafford Township.
