New Jersey Helicopter Crash: Two Aircraft Collide in Midair

On Sunday afternoon, two helicopters collided and crashed in New Jersey, killing one person and seriously injuring another.

Around 11:25 a.m., Hammonton, Atlantic County police received a complaint of an aviation collision involving two helicopters close to the 100 block of Basin Road.

The FAA reports that an Enstrom F-28A helicopter and an Enstrom 280C collided in midair close to Hammonton Municipal Airport.
According to 6abc news, the names of the person killed and the person injured were not immediately released.

A police social media post, the helicopters crashed and one of them caught fire.

The FAA reported, each helicopter contained just the pilots.

Black smoke was seen pouring over the alleged crash site in eyewitness footage captured from the parking lot of a local tractor supply. A helicopter is shown spiraling out of control before crashing in another footage taken at the scene.

According to a social media post from the Hammonton Fire Department, multiple emergency services arrived at the site near Basin Road and the White Horse Pike.
