New Jersey Weather: Isolated Thunderstorms and Rain Showers Ahead
According to the National Weather Service, on Thursday, rain showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon into the evening. Rainfall amounts will mostly range from 0.5-1.0 inches, with localized areas of 2+ inches. No severe weather is expected at this time. From late Thursday evening through Friday, thunderstorms with heavy precipitation could dump 1 to 2 inches of rain on New Jersey.
Widespread rain is expected to develop Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service, with the I-95 corridor and areas north and west seeing the most rainfall.
The rain-cooled air mass will keep temperatures mild, with highs on Thursday reaching the low to mid-seventies before dropping to the 60s on Friday.
Throughout the day, light and intermittent winds will blow from the southwest to the northwest.
