According to the National Weather Service, on Thursday, rain showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon into the evening. Rainfall amounts will mostly range from 0.5-1.0 inches, with localized areas of 2+ inches. No severe weather is expected at this time.
From late Thursday evening through Friday, thunderstorms with heavy precipitation could dump 1 to 2 inches of rain on New Jersey.
Widespread rain is expected to develop Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service, with the I-95 corridor and areas north and west seeing the most rainfall.
The rain-cooled air mass will keep temperatures mild, with highs on Thursday reaching the low to mid-seventies before dropping to the 60s on Friday.
Throughout the day, light and intermittent winds will blow from the southwest to the northwest.
