New Jersey Wildfire Grows to 150 Acres, Threatening Many Structures

A wildfire spanning 150 acres poses a significant risk to numerous buildings, including an elementary school, in Gloucester County, New Jersey.

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service initially identified the fire, referred to as the "Scotland Run Wildfire," near the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Proposed Avenue in Franklin Township on Wednesday, March 13, 2025.

By the morning of Thursday, March 14, 2025, fire officials reported that the wildfire was over 50 percent contained and was endangering at least 20 structures.
Officials reported that the fire initially posed a risk to 60 buildings. Nevertheless, firefighters, aided by volunteer firefighters dedicated to safeguarding these structures, have made significant progress.

According to officials, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service remains on-site with fire engines, bulldozers, and ground crews.
