New Jersey's First Heat Wave: What to Expect

The first heat wave of the year made landfall in New Jersey on Monday, signaling the arrival of summer.

In the northeast, three days or more with a high temperature of at least 90 degrees Fahrenheit are considered a heat wave. Forecasters also say that temperatures will frequently be higher than that in the majority of the state.

According to AccuWeather, the heat wave in the Philadelphia region might linger for a whole week. Their forecasts advise staying cautious throughout this time.

The growing need for cooling will pose an issue in this situation. The electricity grid may be affected in some way which may cause power outages throughout the state.

The National Weather Service predicts that temperatures will rise daily and that this will be a dry week.

The National Weather Service stated temperatures in North and Central Jersey might reach almost 100 degrees on Wednesdays and Thursdays. While it's usually a little cooler along the shore, by the end of the week, some places will still be in the 90s.
