New Supermarket and Four Restaurants Coming to Bey Lea Plaza in Toms River

The main feature of the planned renovation of Bey Lea Plaza, a well-known shopping complex on Hooper Avenue across from Ocean County Mall, is a Sprouts Farmers Market supermarket.

Sprouts Farmers Market has a strong emphasis on their produce section, which features seasonal, organic, and locally grown fruits and vegetables. Meat, deli, prepared foods, grab-and-go meals, bulk items like coffee and beans, groceries, frozen foods, and health supplements are all included in the store.

The owner of the shopping complex, CS Paramount Hooper LLC, has submitted a plan to add four new eateries to Toms River, including the well-known Mediterranean fast-casual eatery Cava. Boot Barn, a Western retailer, would also launch its first location in Ocean County in Bey Lea.

According to Maurice Zekaria, president of Lakewood-based Paramount Realty, the rehabilitation entails an expenditure of over $20 million and includes new retail structures, a new facade, and enhancements to the parking lot.

The Planning Board is set to take up the proposal at a meeting on March 18.
According to documentation kept in town hall, if planners agree, the following will happen:

Two new buildings with a total of four restaurants

  • Paris Baguette Bakery will rent 2,606 square feet in the first building.
  • Cava will debut in a 2,534-square-foot space with a drive-through lane.
  • Just Salad will occupy 2,202 square feet in the second structure, which will house a restaurant and a drive-through lane.
  • First Watch, a 3,877-square-foot breakfast, lunch, and brunch restaurant, will also open.

  • The Vitamin Shoppe's current location near Hooper Avenue is to be demolished in order to make room for the new structures.

In an 18,369-square-foot space adjacent to Sprouts, Boot Barn, a western and workwear retailer, is scheduled to debut.

Boot Barn has eight locations around New Jersey, including one in West Long Branch.

The retailers would join PetSmart, Lane Bryant, and Wells Fargo, among other establishments and renters.

Encore Dental will relocate to a 8,748-square-foot space in the center. Plans also propose a 258-square-foot addition to the nail salon.
