Forecasters predicted that a late-week winter storm will bring erratic temperatures to the Garden State, resulting in a weather week that might feel like many seasons.

The National Weather Service predicts that temperatures will rise on Wednesday and Thursday, reaching highs in the 40s and clear skies, before a rainstorm that will begin to bring 1 to 1.5 inches of precipitation to the state on Thursday afternoon.

Friday highs will be close to fifty and the rain will continue into the early afternoon. AccuWeather predicts a sharp drop in temperature beginning Friday night, with a low of about 21 degrees.

High 30s temperatures and sunny skies are predicted for Saturday; but, fresh precipitation accumulation and the melting snow from last week's storm might cause conditions to become slick.

Over the weekend, there might be problems with groundwater freezing and causing slick patches, according to AccuWeather.

Sunday is predicted to be the start of another temperature rise, with highs in the mid-40s; Monday and Tuesday are predicted to be in the mid-50s, a pattern that may last the entire week.

The National Weather Service stated, "We are more confident that the warming trend will continue, with a stretch of above-normal temperatures through at least Wednesday."
