NJ Braces for Another Week of Storms
This week is going to be busy for the weather in New Jersey, with multiple rounds of rain and storms predicted. There won't be many dry days this week, according to forecasters, as storms from the Midwest will continue to bring rainy conditions to the area.
Forecasters anticipate that the active trend will continue into the weekend.
There will be a pattern where one weather system after another brings with it large-scale cloud cover, showers, and occasionally hours of nonstop rain.
AccuWeather states that "a new storm will already be brewing in the Midwest with eyes for the Northeast hours to a day later, soon after one storm departs with its clouds and lingering showers."
First, a slow-moving storm system that is expected to impact the area on Tuesday and Wednesday. According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday and Wednesday might see up to one inch of rain in a 36-hour period. Flooding is not anticipated at this time, though.
Subsequently, New Jersey will be hit by another massive storm system later in the week. Although it's still a few days away, meteorologists believe the system might bring more rainy weather this weekend.
"While the arrival of that system may be delayed, indications are that it will rain in part of the region on Friday and much of the region on Saturday," says AccuWeather.
This week's best chances to get some sun are on Monday and Thursday.
"With this busy pattern, consider any breaks in the weather to be a true bonus," said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Joe Lundberg.
