NJ July 4th Celebrations at Risk Due to Thunderstorms

Quiet weather leading to storms. This is the pattern that New Jersey has been following lately, and as the Fourth of July draws near, it will happen once more this week. Will rain cause fireworks to be cancelled across the state? This is the most recent forecast.

The week ahead will see a return of rising temperatures and humidity. The National Weather Service predicted that it will feel like it is in the mid-to upper-90s by Thursday, Independence Day. Regretfully, for those with outside plans, rain is predicted.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service say that it won't be a total washout. The unfavorable report? The afternoon and evening are the most favorable times for isolated showers and storms, which may reduce the display of fireworks.
