According to NJ State Police after an accident on Manahawkin Bay on Saturday afternoon, a man was taken to the hospital after being stuck by boat propellers.

According to a New Jersey State Police spokeswoman, the 59-year-old resident of Neshanic Station struck the side of a 28-foot boat while using a personal watercraft in the bay in Long Beach Township.

About 4:30 p.m., Joseph Quinn, a 59-year-old resident of Neshanic Station, was involved in a collision with a 28-foot boat while operating a personal watercraft, according to authorities. Quinn was thrown into the water by the collision and was "sucked underwater by the other vessel's propulsion," according to state police. Then the second boat's propellers struck him.

Quinn was sent to a nearby hospital for more care, according to officials, who as of Monday morning had not released any additional details.
