NJ Mom Arrested for Allegedly Driving Drunk with Kids on Board

NJ Mom Arrested for Allegedly Driving Drunk with Kids on Board

With her blood alcohol content more than four times the legal limit, a mother from New Jersey is charged with driving while intoxicated while her kids were inside the car.

Following a collision in Ewing Township in October, Megan Fackler, 39, is charged with DUI, endangering the welfare of minors, and other offenses.

Transparency Bodycam was the first to get the newly released body-worn camera footage, which depicts the aftermath of the October 5 collision between Fackler's car and a box truck near Grand and Summit Avenues.
Fackler is listed on the New Jersey Department of Transportation's website as the Director of Statewide Planning.

She admitted to authorities that evening that she was having a difficult time in her life. An officer administered a field sobriety test.

At the police station, Fackler was arrested and subjected to a breathalyzer test.

Her blood alcohol content was.371, which is more than four times the legal limit, according to court records.

Officers on the bodycam footage claim that following the collision, her three children were taken to the hospital for examination.

Fackler was charged with another DUI in Metuchen in March of last year, according to a check of municipal court proceedings.

Our request for information from NJDOT has not received an official response; but, according to a DOT source, she is still working there as of Thursday morning.
