Parts of New Jersey, especially those around the shore, are expected to get light rain today. This evening, there will be wind gusts of up to 35 mph.
Up to 0.10 to 0.20 inches of rain are predicted for the Jersey Shore and southern New Jersey through Monday midday.
Around noon, there might be a few light showers in the areas close to the I-95 corridor, but there wouldn't be much precipitation there.
With south to southwesterly breezes of 5 to 10 mph, high temperatures today are expected to reach the upper 50s to low 60s.
Between 5 and 8 p.m. on Monday, a cold front is expected to pass through New Jersey, causing winds to suddenly shift to the west-northwest and accelerate to 10 to 20 mph, with gusts possibly reaching 30 to 35 mph.
By Tuesday morning, temperatures will progressively drop into the low to mid-40s.
On Tuesday, there will be bright skies with west-northwest winds that continue to blow between 10 and 20 mph with occasional gusts of up to 30 mph.
Like Monday, high temperatures will stay in the upper 50s to low 60s.
As high pressure moves into the area on Tuesday night, the winds will decrease.
The weather for Wednesday will be calm, with highs in the mid-60s.
Northern areas of New Jersey may see some light rain by Wednesday night as a cold front moves in from the northwest.
As high pressure briefly returns, Thursday will be cooler with highs in the low to mid-50s with gusty northwest winds.
Friday will begin calmly before the pattern picks up steam throughout the weekend.
The timing and severity of a number of low pressure systems that could affect the area are unpredictable, according to the weekend prediction.
According to current
forecasts, Friday night is when shower chances are most likely to occur.
