NJ Weather Update: Snow Expected Today and Sunday
According to the most recent forecast, there is a chance of snow again over the weekend, with most of New Jersey seeing a light dusting of snow this late afternoon and evening.
The
National Weather Service predicts less than 1 inch of snow will fall throughout the state on Thursday. Snowfall is predicted to begin this afternoon and then taper off between 7 and 10 p.m.
According to
National Weather Service forecasters, "there is some concern about the snow falling around the evening commute, but it should be light and dry enough to not cause any significant travel issues, especially in light of the residual salt on many roads."
Since the temperature will be in the 40s for the next few days, there will be some rain on Saturday. On Sunday, there is a chance of snow again.
According to
National Weather Service forecasters, "even if it develops, the system will be rather weak and progressive, so snowfall totals and resulting impacts appear minor."
There may be enough snow and ice on Sunday, according to
AccuWeather forecasters, to make travel treacherous.
Following that, the National Weather Service predicts that next week will be the coldest we've seen in years.
Forecasters with
AccuWeather are keeping an eye out for another storm that might develop and bring snow to New Jersey the following week.
