NJ Weather: Warmer Temperatures are Here but Won't Last Long

According to the National Weather Service, after a run of wintry-like temps, we finally warmup for the end of the week and weekend. But how long will it last?

Mother Nature will bring warmer weather to New Jersey on Friday morning, along with some wind gusts and rain showers at night, marking the official start of spring.
As a weather system moves closer, gusty winds of up to 30 mph will develop throughout the state on Friday afternoon. Light rain showers will occur from Friday night into early Saturday morning, and temperatures will rise into the 60s and almost 70 degrees this weekend.

Because of the southerly wind blowing off the chilly water, coastal places will continue to be colder than interior locations on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Conditions will improve on Saturday as the morning showers end and the sky clears. It is predicted that Saturday afternoon temperatures will reach roughly 60 degrees.

As a warm air mass sets over the area, Sunday appears to be the warmest day of the weekend, with temperatures in some parts of New Jersey approaching 70 degrees.
As a powerful cold front passes through, experts predicted another round of showers for Sunday night and Monday morning.

Monday's maximum temperatures, which are expected to reach the mid-50s in the first part of the day, will probably drop in the afternoon as colder air rushes in.

On Monday, there may be gusts of 30 to 40 mph from the northwest, particularly in the afternoon and evening. Low temperatures during the night might be as low as the upper 20s or low 30s.

As the cooler air mass persists, Tuesday will bring milder breezes but colder temperatures.
