Ocean County Fire Investigated and Determined to Be Accidental

According to Manchester Police Department, on Friday, November 29th, 2024, at approximately 2123 hours, officers from the Manchester Township Police Department responded to 137A Hudson Parkway to investigate a report of an active structure fire.

Upon arrival at the scene, smoke and flames were observed emanating from the rear exterior of the residence. At this time, officers quickly determined that all adjoining residences were either self-evacuated or unoccupied.

Due to joint efforts of the Manchester Township Communications Division and the Ocean County Sherriff’s Office Communications Division, numerous fire companies were dispatched to the scene and ultimately extinguished the fire.

As a result of the fire, the residence sustained extensive fire and water damage, and the building inspector subsequently deemed the residence inhabitable.

No injuries were reported at the scene. The Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office arrived at the scene and conducted a preliminary investigation.

At the conclusion of the investigation, the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office determined the cause of the fire to be accidental due to the failure of energized electrical components in the master bedroom.
