According to New Jersey State Police, a resident of Brick Township perished early on Saturday, September 21, 2024 when his SUV flipped over while he was leaving Atlantic County via the Garden State Parkway.

Just before 9:30 a.m., Troy E. Thompson, 62, was involved in a fatal collision while traveling south on the Parkway. A spokeswoman for the New Jersey State Police said that Thompson's car lost control while he was maneuvering a bend in Egg Harbor Township while he was taking the 38A exit ramp. The SUV lost control of its vehicle and flipped to the left of the road.

Authorities affirmed that the collision is still under investigation. As of right now, no new information has been made available.
