Ocean County Man Indicted for Father's Murder

According to the Ocean County Sheriff, on January 30, 2025, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer declared that a Grand Jury sitting in Ocean County had indicted Justin Donaldson, 38, of Lacey Township, for murder in relation to the September 7, 2022, death of his father, David Donaldson, 67, also of Lacey Township.

At around 4:35 p.m. on September 7, 2022, a worried relative called Lacey Township Police Department officers to a home on Weehawken Avenue in an attempt to conduct a welfare check on his father, David Donaldson, and his brother, Justin Donaldson.

Justin Donaldson refused to allow the relative to enter the house. Officers from the Lacey Township Police Department responded to the worried family member's 911 call. After entering the house, Lacey Township police officers found the body of a deceased man, identified as David Donaldson, who had apparently suffered facial trauma.

Justin Donaldson was the culprit behind his father's death, according to an investigation by the Ocean County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, Lacey Township Police Department, and Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Major Crime Unit.

Without any problems, Justin Donaldson was arrested at the scene. After being taken to the Ocean County Jail, he has been held there ever since his capture.
