Ocean County Vehicle Burglaries: Arrest Announced

According to Manchester Police Department, there were over a dozen vehicle burglaries reported in the Manchester Township neighborhood of Pine Lake Park on Tuesday, September 3.

The suspect was caught in the act on camera surveillance, which the police quickly acquired as evidence. The public was also made aware of this video through a social media post.

Wednesday, September 4th, at approximately 6:30 a.m., was reported to the police by a watchful Pine Lake Park homeowner who saw a suspicious person who fit the suspect's description. The person was recognized by responding authorities as Toms River resident Cody Diaz, 30.

During the investigation, Diaz was found in possession of a stolen bicycle and items taken from the previous day's burglaries, leading to his arrest. Additional evidence was collected, further linking Diaz to several of the reported vehicle burglaries.

Diaz has been charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft, and receiving stolen property. He is currently being held at Ocean County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.
