Sandy Rinderer of Pine Beach
Sandy Rinderer, a local woman hopes to set a world record on the Toms River while contributing to a charity that is important to her. However, she requires the assistance and support of others. 329 of them at the very least.
Sandy is organizing a world record attempt Aug. 20 on the Toms River for the largest parade of canoes and kayaks.
Her objectives are to raise money for Save Barnegat Bay and beat the Guinness World Record set in 2018 in Poland by 329 paddlers.
Largest parade of canoes/kayaks 2018
Rinderer is organizing Paddle on the Bay, a canoe and kayak parade that she thinks will break all previous records on the Toms River in August.
This is a one time event to break a Guinness World Record for the most kayaks and canoes in a continuous mile long parade.
According to the website, you can launch your boat at the beaches along Pine Beach, Beachwood, or any location on the Toms River and paddle over to the Official Tent at Avon Beach Lot at Riverside Drive and Avon Road.
Official start time is 8:00 AM and check-in will begin at 7:30 AM and will remain open until 11:00 AM.
Sign-in tent will be at this beach where you will get your official boat number and participant wrist band. Boats will head east along the Pine Beach shoreline for one half mile, pass the
Pine Beach Yacht Club and then paddle back to the finish line.
This is a rain or shine event, No Refunds!
In order to acquire an exact count, Rinderer said everyone who wants to participate must sign up online—including on the day of the event. Every boat will be given a boat number during the check-ins, which will take place in the parking lot at Avon Beach in Pine Beach.
Since parking will be difficult for the event, you can launch along the beach in Beachwood, Ocean Gate, and other nearby spots and paddle over to the Avon Beach starting point. (kayaks and canoes — but not paddleboarders)
"We are pleased to work with locals and paddle enthusiasts to raise awareness about the condition of the river. According to Britta Forsberg, executive director of Save Barnegat Bay, the Toms River is the greatest of all the rivers that bring fresh water from the Pinelands to Barnegat Bay.
It is also essential to our communities' quality of life, local economy, and recreational opportunities, she continued. This event will be a pleasant opportunity to recognize all the ways we care about and cooperate to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our rivers and bays.
Yacht clubs in the vicinity are sought for by Rinderer. She said, "Local residents and the
Pine Beach Yacht Club will work together to break the
Guinness World Record of 329 boats. Township Search and Rescue and even the
Riverlady will be present.
