The Pied Piper Swim School have closed their doors on July 29 after its founders decided it was time to retire. For the past 30 years, parents have been known to line up before sunrise to guarantee a space for their kids in one of its programs.
The recovery after two disasters—COVID-19 and a
car that crashed into the building in 2021 and ended up in the pool—was difficult, according to Robert and Laura Ziemer. The structure has subsequently been fixed, and it is anticipated that it will continue to house a swim school run by a new business.
Children as young as six months old could take swimming and water safety training at the school on Route 37, which offered six- to eight-week sessions. Robert, also known as "Mr. Bob," and Laura, often known as "Miss Lori," were the owners of the company. They were frequently accompanied by their daughter Jennifer Repetti and their granddaughter Ava Repetti.
The family built on the interest from locals whose kids had grown up around water, whether it was in backyard swimming pools, bays, lagoons, or the ocean. The Ziemers estimate that they educated 400 children over the summer. 200 during the winter. It implies that Pied Piper helped countless Jersey Shore kids learn to swim.
The Pied Piper Swim School has been teaching swimming to the residents of Toms River and the surrounding area for more than 30 years. The steadfastness of their clients was a key factor in their prosperity during both good and bad times.
They are eager to begin this new phase of their lives called "retirement". They will always be appreciative for the support of their community.
