Disturbing Shooting Incident Shakes Berkeley Township Neighborhood

Ongoing Neighbor Disputes Linked to Recent Bayville Shooting Incident

Reports indicate that the recent shooting in the Berkeley Shores neighborhood was the result of ongoing conflicts between neighbors.

Authorities, along with other residents, revealed that John Adamo, 54, had been involved in a prolonged dispute with his neighbors, who have been identified by friends as Tom and Jill Kwatkoski, although officials have not disclosed their names.

A neighbor informed CBS New York that a "no trespassing" sign in the Kwatkoski's yard was specifically directed at Adamo.
The individuals have been engaged in a prolonged disagreement. The cause of this conflict remains unclear to me. According to neighbor Joe Spicciatie, who spoke to CBS, "They have positioned cameras directed at each other's residences, yet in my opinion, they were all quite pleasant."

Additional neighbors informed PIX11 News that they were uncertain about the specifics of the altercation. A mutual acquaintance revealed to the news outlet that the issue was related to excessive noise from music.
On Monday, shortly before 5 p.m., Adamo allegedly discharged a firearm at his male neighbor outside his residence, as reported by authorities. He subsequently fired into the home, injuring the neighbor's wife.

Following the incident, Adamo retreated into his residence, which led to a standoff lasting two and a half hours with the Ocean County SWAT Team. The standoff concluded with police finding Adamo deceased in his upstairs bedroom, having apparently taken his own life with a gunshot wound to the head, according to officials.

Both victims were airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where they were reported to be in critical but stable condition as of Tuesday morning.
